Judy Ringer

Judy Ringer founded Portsmouth Aikido in 1995, with support from Mitsunari Kanai Sensei and instructors at New England Aikikai and Portland Aikido, where she began her aikido practice in 1994.

Always interested in Aikido off-the-mat applications, she’s long been a disciple of its principles in corporate and workplace settings, where she brings to life key concepts in conflict transformation, such as self-management under pressure, turning adversaries into allies, and appreciation of other viewpoints.

Judy is the author of two books: Turn Enemies Into Allies: The Art of Peace in the Workplace, and Unlikely Teachers: Finding the Hidden Gifts in Daily Conflict. She provides conflict, communication, and presentation skills training and coaching internationally.

She is also the author of three CDs -- Managing Conflict in the Workplace: An Aiki Approach; Simple Gifts: Making the Most of Life's Ki Moments, and This Little Light: The Gift of Christmas.

Judy holds a third-degree black belt in Aikido and is one of our many skilled Portsmouth Aikido instructors. You can learn more about Judy as well as download many free resources on conflict and communication skill building at her website: www.judyringer.com.
